The subject for this series is a cityscape of downtown Kansas City from the vantage point of the Missouri river and a view of the river from the ‘Town of Kansas Observation Deck’. 

I had some preconceived notions about what it would be like to take a canoe on the river. However, paddling along the waters were calm and I was enthralled. My apprehensions turned to elation, to be canoeing on the waterway that I have lived near all my life. This was a new experience viewing the currents, whirlpools and rapids along the way.  I’m sharing the beautiful adventure through my artwork. 

By merging several digital snapshots I’ve patched together creating new landscapes. I enjoy working with digital technologies to make artwork, it is a challenging and interesting medium for me. The light changes slightly between different shots taken seconds apart, everything is always moving/flowing forward the clouds, water and the seasons. I love seeing the natural beauty of Kansas City.
